Rules

ASA Rules will be followed with the following exceptions:

1. The league will furnish rulebooks to each team, it is recommended that each manager read it thoroughly and brings it to your games.

2. Each team member should wear like shirts (example: light blue with 6" numbers) after June 15. Exception may have one player that is non-matching or the team will be automatically visitor.  If more than 1 non-matching that is automatically visitor, if both teams have equal number of non-matching it goes by the schedule.

3. 5 minute grace period from scheduled start time for any game, a team not having (8) players at scheduled starting time will be declared in forfeit of game and the $15.00 forfeit fine must be paid before you can play your next scheduled game.

4. On the field warm-up ball is permitted for the first inning only.  The first time players are caught warming up in the park area, the player and manager will both get a warning, next time they may get suspended for the next game.

5. Rosters will be limited to 20 players maximum.  For each player added after original roster is turned in, there is a $5.00 fee.  Up until July 1st, a team may fill any blank spots on their roster as long as the player fills out and signs the waiver form before he plays and the above conditions are met.  After July 1st, a team may add to their roster if the team they are playing agrees so that they don't have to forfeit or makes them have up to 10 players, for the change to be permanent for any additional games the team must get approval from at least 5 officers and or board members, and turn in writing to league scheduler.

6. An ejected player will be out for the remainder of that game and has 5 minutes to leave the park.  The umpire may give a written statement after the game stating if the incident was a major or minor infraction.  If the umpire ejects a player, coach or manager, due to a flagrant act, upon the decision of the umpire and executive board, the player will be suspended 2 additional games; (consecutive games in league play or league sanctioned tourneys).  If a player is ejected a second time during the season, upon the decision of the board of directors, the player will be suspended 4 additional games, a third such violation will mean the player is suspended for the rest of the season, and may be banned from further league play.  Any player that curses any league official will get an automatic 3 game suspension.

7. Any player that intentionally strikes an umpire will be suspended for a period of 1 year and may be banned from future league play.  Any player that strikes another player will automatically get a minimum 2 games suspension.

8. The PASL board will try to meet within 48 hours after any infraction occurs that warrants disciplinary action of a player.  The decision of the board will then be presented, in writing, to the manager and a copy kept by the secretary for league records.

9. The manager of the team must do any protesting of a call or a rule.  In the event of protest, the manager will give in writing within 48 hours, his account of the incident in question.  The umpire will give a written account at the end of the game.  The league board will decide the status of the protest.

10. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES IN THE BALL PLAYING AREA, PARKING LOT, OR THE SCORERS BOOTH! If you do not abide by this rule you are jeopardizing the league and possible suspension of your team.  Team members caught with alcoholic beverages are subjecting their team to a minimum penalty of forfeiting the next scheduled game.

11. A player cannot change from one team to another if he has participated in any game for the team upon whose roster he was submitted.  The only situation where a player may change teams if that player was submitted on a team's roster at the start of the season but never played in a game with that team (was never entered in the score book), and wishes to change teams.  The following must take effect: A) The manager of the team, which the player's name was submitted, must submit in writing to the representative, the deletion of the player's name. B) The manager of the team that the player wishes to go to must then submit to the representative, that player's name to be added to his roster.

12. Any team forfeiting a game will be responsible to pay a fine of $15.00.  They will not be allowed to play until the fine is paid, with fines being continuous.  Example:  A team forfeits 6:30 game on Monday and is scheduled to play Thursday at 7:30; if the fine is not paid the Thursday game is also forfeited and they now owe $30.00.  Collected fines go to the offended team.

13. Any team wishing to change or alter the schedule game for their team must do the following: A) They must confer with the other team to confirm the change.  B) Upon approval of all concerned parties to change a regular scheduled game, it must be then submitted in writing to the league scheduler for approval.

14. All league teams must pay Blueberry Entry Fee of $225.00 by August 1st or they will not be participating in the Blueberry Tournament.

15. Ten (10) run rule after 5 innings. 15 run rule after 4 innings and 20 after 3 innings.  Rubber or plastic spikes only! NO METAL SPIKES!

16. League will provide scorekeepers for each game.

17. Trophies will be awarded to the top 2 finishers in the league.  15 Individual awards will be given to the league winner.

18. There will be a limit of 5 untouched home runs per game, then a one up rule.  Home team cannot go one up in the bottom of the 7th inning or any extra innings.  Any balls in excess of 5 and the one up rule not in effect will be outs with any runners that are on base not advancing.  Teams have the option of waiving the Home Run Rule if BOTH teams agree, prior to start of the game.

19. During league games if a team is playing the Firemen and they are called for duty the game will be finished from that point during our rainout make up schedule.  Note: The team they are playing should wait up to 15 minutes before leaving if is a false alarm, the Firemen may return and be able to play and finish. Scorekeepers and Umpire decision is final.  During the pre-season and post season tournaments, if the Firemen are called away, it is a forfeit.

20. The league entry fee for the season is $600.00

21. In the event of ties in standings, the tiebreakers are as follows: Head to Head in League Play, One Game Playoff.

22. Home Runs over the fence don't have to be run out. The team that hits the home run chases it or uses the worst ball the umpire can find till the good ball is returned.

23. Teams may bat up to 12 players.  If anyone in the lineup leaves and there is no substitute, it is an out.  If a team only bats 8, the 9th spot is an out. If they have 9 there is no penalty unless a player leaves the game.

24. BATS!!! We will NOT allow non-ASA approved bats.  This is to ensure safety of all players.  Umpire or league official on duty has the right to remove any bat that is in question, player has burden of proof before bat can be reinstated. CHECK ON XBATS PAGE FOR more info.

25. There will be no base stealing.

26. 1-1 count. No half.

27. Home plate area filled in after last game by winning team.

28. In Coed Division only 12" ball used for both genders and 150" line in outfield that that outfielders must play behind.

29. Teams may use courtesy runner up to 3 times through the 5th inning and before.  Starting in the 6th inning a substitute must be used.  Courtesy runner must be last made out.
